Jahzel Misner is a Comox Valley artist who loves to paint animals and fantasy landscapes. With a background in Interactive Arts and a degree in UX design from Simon Fraser University, she has a strong foundation in aesthetics and functionality.
Like many who spend their days in the digital world, Jahzel craved something more tactile. She wanted to create with her hands, not just a computer. So, she picked up a paintbrush. Transitioning from the precise world of digital design to the free-flowing and unpredictable nature of painting was a big change, but it felt right. Painting allowed her to touch and feel her art in a way that clicking a mouse never could.
Although she is relatively new to painting on canvas, Jahzel has learned a lot from the excellent art teachers and classes available in the Comox Valley. This community has been a great help in her journey as an artist. Her move from digital art to painting has been exciting, and she is grateful for all the support she has found here.
