Beverly Michaluk
I was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba. I became interested in sewing while taking home economics, and received my first sewing machine at age eleven. From that day on, I was hooked. It has been an adventure and a love affair that has blossomed into a pursuit for my creativity and originality. I started making clothes for my dolls, which developed into dressmaking, quilting as well as doll making.
Upon moving to Comox in 1999, I was introduced to quilting, then machine embroidery and digitizing, which opened up a whole new world, finally working that into fabric arts. I’m also an accomplished photographer and create much of my fabric art from my photos, which is another passion. I like to put my own special spin on my work, using different fabrics and materials to build an image which invites the viewer to venture into my world of expression.
