Liz Wouters

Over 50 years ago, I learned how to develop and print black and white photographs in my high school Photography Club. Magic! Seven years later, that skill landed me a temporary job as newspaper reporter/photographer in the Australian Outback. Since then, I've enjoyed working as a part-time freelance photojournalist in New Zealand, Comox Valley, Victoria and Haida Gwaii.

While living in Haida Gwaii, I was privileged to work on the board of two non-profit agencies, one in social housing and one in women/family wellness. My skills in conflict management, HR, writing and event planning complemented the expertise of talented board and staff members.

Retired now from a varied career that included nursing, a government career in communications, clean energy and coaching, I'm still taking photographs, experimenting with reflection, light and texture and strangers’ smiles!
